Jared D. Lock, a Ph.D. and Licensed Industrial/Organizational psychologist has a solid 25-year career working as a leader in 4 organizations that all achieved sustained and long-term double digit year-over-year growth during his tenure.
Working in a Fortune 200 Telecom, two thriving Consulting firms, and a test publisher, Dr. Lock has succeeded in leveraging the people side of business for positive outcomes, taking one of these companies from 5 employees (he was the 5th) and 1 million in sales to 40 employees, 15 million in sales and coverage of 24 languages in 33 countries in less than 10 years.
While a psychologist by training, he is a businessman first and ingrains himself with the organization’s business mission and operating philosophy. He then applies his psychological and people understanding in business terms, helping organizations easily use the complex world of psychology to their advantage.
His work is typically at the CEO and Board level – in such organizations as adidas, Zenith Insurance, Bank of America, Herschend Family Entertainment, Sprint, Valero, Via Christi – helping business leaders understand and then maximize the people side of the business. He also helps many organizations put together more traditional HR initiatives — helping organizations select, on-board, train, develop, and mentor their employees using objective data and incisive feedback, backed by practical strategies that fit each organization’s needs.
He is a frequent speaker, writer, and professional trainer with over 60 book chapters, publications, and presentations in professionally refereed organizations. He is an active member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychologists (SIOP), and Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Dr. Lock holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Kansas and both an M.A. and Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Tulsa and also is a Licensed Industrial/Organizational Psychologist.
